I am Hieu Nguyen Phi, FRM, a Data Scientist. Before stepping into the Data Science career, I was a Quantitative Risk Analyst from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I had a background in International Finance by Foreign Trade University. I have also charterred the FRM certification by GARP since 2018, after 2 years of experience in Risk management in banking and investing sectors. I also inspired by Mr Sheldon L. Cooper, a fictional character in the CBS television series The Big Bang Theory. He is who he is and doesn’t pretend to be someone he isn’t. He is so serious about anything he’s doing, from academic tasks to real-life businesses. With my inherent laziness, I always look for the best and most efficient (in terms of time and my energy capacity) approach to resolve my practical issues.

Currently, I am employed by Vietnam International Bank as Senior Data Scientist. A dynamic and motivated professional with a proven record of being host/ownership of closely 30 data science projects, from data gathering to implementing the models in reality, my data science style is attempting to apply the scientific researches to practice, therefore I am skilled in realizing the most up-to-date scientific knowledge. I am driven by the blood lust for studying and updating my knowledge, leading to the fact that I am significantly animated about challenging projects from various industries with plentiful opportunities assisting my brain able to move on in the Data Science career.
